The GBA men’s Two Bowl SIngles Championship last-16, quarter-finals and semi-finals are due to be played from 9:30am on Sunday 14th July at Cotswold BC. Please arrive and register by 9:15am so that the draw can commence promptly, prior to play commencing.

Markers may not be provided for the L16 and quarter-final stages, thus the players may have to mark for each other. Four players from the 2nd session of L16 matches may be requested to mark for the first session, and losers from the 1st session will mark for the 2nd session. Following that, L16 losers will be expected to mark a quarter-final. Unless you can bring a volunteer marker with you, we all need to help each other, it’s better if you volunteer but please don’t refuse when asked. It is intended that EBUA markers will mark the semi-finals.

Dress (see County Competition Rule 6) shall be navy, black or grey below the waist (shorts manufactured for the sport of bowls may be worn, cargo shorts are not permitted) and Club or ‘predominantly’ white shirts. Club apparel, which is registered with the County, may be worn.

Please have your bowls on the bank, with matching stickers, ready for Umpire’s inspection before play commences. Bowls must bear a legible WB stamp showing 1985 or later

Whilst full details are not known, Bowls England have scheduled the National Two Bowl Singles Championships to be contested at Leamington on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th August. In the preliminary round Gloucestershire A will play Sussex B and Gloucestershire B will play Kent A. This is a repeat of the draw for 2023 so I will be checking this with Bowls England.

Players are reminded of County Competition Rules 4.6 and 11, please familiarise yourself with these; you can find them on pages 76 and 79 respectively of the 2024 yearbook.

Gloucestershire’s National Championship Finals qualifiers are required to wear the current County playing shirt. This can be purchased via the supplier’s ‘Club Shop’ at karuta-sportswear.com/collections/gloucestershire-bowls .The County Final will be contested on Sunday 8th September at GB Britton BC.
